Add enough water to cover. Add the sea salt. Bring to a boil over high heat. Skim off any foam that appears on the surface of the water. Reduce the heat to low. Cover the stock pot and simmer for two hours. 2) Remove the chicken from the liquid. Pour the liquid through a strainer. Pro tip: If you want to remove some of the fat from the chicken stock, let it cool completely and refrigerate it for at least an hour before using. 3) Pull the cooked chicken meat from the bones. Chop it or use a kitchen shears to cut it into bite-sized pieces. 4) Place the carrots, squash, onion, turnip, bay leaves, 4 cups of the cubed chicken and 8 cups of the chicken stock back in the stock pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Simmer, covered, for 15 minutes. 5) Add the zucchini and cabbage.. Season with sea salt and white pepper to taste. Simmer, covered, for an additional ten minutes. Serve as is, or with optional fresh herbs if your choice. To make it even heartier add some cooked rice or noodles.
