How to Make Crispy Orange Chicken at Home Another popular Chinese restaurant dish that I really love. And as with many such dishes the question of whether they are really Chinese always seems to come up. I'd love to hear your opinions. To make this dish you will need: 2 large chicken breast fillets Marinade: 1 tbsp light soy sauce 1/2 tbsp sesame oil 1 tsp sugar For the crispy coating: 150g cornflour/cornstarch A good pinch of salt and pepper 1 large egg For the orange sauce: 300ml fresh, unsweetened orange juice a pinch of 5 spice powder The juice of 1 orange (the same one used as garnish) 1/2 - 1 tbsp of cornflour/cornstarch slurry to thicken Garnish 1/4 cucumber 2 tomatoes 2 slices of orange Pineapple cubes (optional) Other things required: 1 litre of cooking oil and a deep pan for frying If you want to buy any of the kit I use the links are below.
