Chilli Beef lettuce Wraps Recipe - Vegan Vs Meat Challenge - Beef Mince Vs Quorn! 'What is Quorn made of?' is one of the questions that I've always wondered about. Despite being a lifetime omnivore, I've always been curious about being a Vegan or a Vegetarian. And the meat substitute route seems to be the obvious choice for people like me. But are they any good? Do they taste like meat? Cook like meat? Are meat alternatives expensive? And what are they actually made of? Well my friends, this is my new mission to find out. I'm going to pit meat vs meat substitutes in some of my recipes and I will give you my verdict on each one. My first challenge is beef mince vs Quorn mince in a chilli beef lettuce wrap recipe. I have specified 300g of beef and 3oog of Quorn mince for their respective recipes. The rest of the ingredients are as follow (same for both recipes): Romaine or iceberg lettuce 2 cloves of garlic 1 inch of fresh ginger 1 hot chilli pepper (jalapeno or similar) 1/2 a white onion 3 tbsp ketchup 2 tbsp rice vinegar 2 tbsp brown sauce 1 tsp sesame oil 1 tbsp sugar a pinch of salt and pepper a splash of water
