About This Video

Sometimes the hardest part of studying isn’t the material—it’s literally just starting. In this video, I break down how I motivate myself to study on the days I don’t feel like it, using practical, repeatable systems instead of waiting for “motivation” to magically show up. I talk about what I do when my energy is low, when I’m procrastinating, or when I feel overwhelmed by how much I need to cover. My main takeaway is that motivation follows action, not the other way around. So I focus on making the first step ridiculously easy: I lower the “activation energy,” set a small target, and build momentum from there. I also share how I use structure—simple routines, environment tweaks, and realistic expectations—so I can still show up even on off-days. If you’re a student (especially in med) who wants to be more consistent without burning out, this is the exact mindset + workflow I keep coming back to.
