In this video, I talk about a question I get a lot: “Is it really possible to enter med school at 18 and become a doctor at 25?” In the Philippines, the usual path can take around 9 years before you become a licensed physician—but there are accelerated medicine programs that can shorten that timeline to about 7. I break down what these programs are, why they exist, and what kind of student they’re built for. I also interview my friend Sean, who graduated from UP’s INTARMED program, so you can hear what the experience looks like from someone who actually lived it. We talk about the reality behind the “fast-track” label—what changes in the timeline, what stays hard (because med is still med), and what you should consider before choosing a program like INTARMED, LEAPMed, or BS Human Biology routes. My goal is to help you make a smarter decision: not just chasing the shortest path, but choosing the path that fits your priorities, learning style, and long-term plans in medicine.
