Our son's first birthday party was like a mini wedding. According to Korean tradition, the first birthday ("dohl") is a huge celebration requiring a lot of decorations and festivities. It almost felt too overwhelming for me to plan, but with the help of our friends, it turned out to be a special and memorable (and somewhat stressful) occasion.
