Our Baby's 100th Day Celebration (Korean tradition) | 백일 (Baek il)

Our baby Lincoln turned 100 days old, which in Korean tradition is a big deal because this is supposedly when your newborn baby starts getting easier to handle. The baek il (백일) used to be a celebration about the baby making it to the "safe zone" back in the day, when the infant mortality rate in Korea was high. Although in modern times, this is no longer a concern, this is still a tradition that most Koreans celebrate. To us, it meant that we made it to our first 100 days as new parents and I think that was reason enough to throw a party! :) It was difficult preparing for it with a baby and I was pretty frazzled while doing it, but my friends helped me through it and I felt victorious in the end!
