About This Video
In this doggy product review, I tested Crystal Eye Tear Stain Remover on Charlie because his tear staining has been pretty noticeable lately. I picked it up at Unleashed (but you can also grab it on Amazon), and I wanted to see if it could help with the staining or at least keep it from getting worse. I also zoom in close so you can really see what his tear stains look like before we start—especially because I trimmed around his eyes, and I think that made the wetness spread more since there’s less hair to absorb it.
For application, the directions say to use a cotton ball or swab, but I skipped that and used a soft, durable cloth instead. I poured a small amount (aka “just a little”) onto the cloth, gave the bottle a quick shake just in case, and tested a tip I heard: wipe up instead of down so you’re not spreading the staining. One thing I noticed right away is Crystal Eye felt a bit more “soapy” than other products I’ve tried—it actually lathered a little, which I’m not used to seeing.
After one pass, the side I treated looked a little better than the untreated side (less dark and clumpy), but the staining definitely didn’t disappear. My takeaway: this looks more like a product that helps with prevention/spread rather than instantly removing existing stains, and I’m going to keep using it for a few days and update you guys.
