About This Video
In this video I’m testing Burt’s Bees for Dogs Tear Stain Remover on my own little Charlie (he’s a full-breed Maltese), because he sometimes gets tear staining around his eyes—and even around his mouth too. I show you a close-up of the bottle, explain why breeds like Maltese (and even poodles) can deal with this kind of staining, and then I walk through exactly how I used it on Charlie’s eye area.
The directions say to use a cotton ball or cotton swab, but I didn’t have any, so I used a soft bath towel instead. It’s a twist-top bottle that you squeeze, and I only used a tiny bit to lightly dampen the towel, then gently wiped around the eye while focusing on the stained area. Charlie wasn’t thrilled (when he gets anxious he licks his lips), but he’s used to daily cleanings. After one pass, I could already see that the side I cleaned looked a little less clumpy and a bit cleaner—though I definitely think this is the kind of product you need to use a few times to see the real effects. It also felt gentle, so I’m going to keep using it and keep testing other options too.
