Arts of survival in the Baltic: Russia’s futures and their implications

On Thursday September 12th 2024 the Cambridge University Centre for Geopolitics and the Baltic Defence College in Tartu held a seminar in Tartu, entitled ‘Arts of survival in the Baltic: Russia’s futures and their implications’. This collaborative event with the University of Tartu’s centre for Eurasian and Russian Studies was supported by the British Embassies in Tallinn and Riga. The purpose of this seminar was to consider the various implications for the region of changes in Russia as a consequence of the current conflict in Ukraine. The event comprised an invitation-only seminar, followed by a public and open meeting, entitled “Arts of Survival on the Border with Russia”. This fits in with the programme of Tartu – European Capital of Culture 2024, whose overall leading theme is ‘Arts of Survival’. The invitation-only panels addressed: -Scenarios for Russia’s Future -Implications for Small Neighbours -Implications for Global Geopolitics and the World Order And the public, open session addressed: -Arts of Survival on the Border with Russia
