Ambassador Antonio de Aguiar Patriota: The Foreign Policy of Brazil

Ambassador Patriota will discuss Brazil’s foreign policy and its priorities, and how the country developed its unique blend of respect for international law, a preference for the peaceful resolution of conflicts, and a commitment to diplomacy as a means for improving global cooperation. This event is jointly organised with the Cambridge University Brazilian Society. About the speaker: Antonio de Aguiar Patriota is the current Ambassador of Brazil to the United Kingdom. He was Ambassador of Brazil to the United States from 2007 to 2009, Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2011 to 2013 and Permanent Representative of Brazil to the United Nations from 2013 to 2016. He was also Ambassador to Italy and Egypt.
