In this video I’m breaking down the class rules I use in literally ALL of my Outschool classes to keep things running smooth (and to keep me sane). When you’re teaching online, especially with kids, you can have the cutest slides and the best lesson plan… but if you don’t set expectations up front, the class can go off the rails fast. So I share the non-negotiables I go over at the beginning of class and the little reminders I use as we go. My goal with these rules is simple: help learners feel safe, heard, and successful while still keeping the class respectful and organized. I also explain how I enforce rules without being harsh—like what I do when someone keeps interrupting, how I handle chat, and why I’m big on participation expectations.
