It’s almost NFL time, and since I’m a certified fantasy-season sicko, I figured we’d do something fun: react to NFL players’ fragrance picks from GQ’s “10 Things I Can’t Live Without.” In this video I break down what Davante Adams, the Griffin twins, Justin Jefferson, and my goat Calvin Johnson are wearing—and more importantly, whether those picks actually make sense in the real world. Some of these guys brought the heat, and some of them… well, they brought “smell like money” energy with a price tag to match. We start with Davante Adams rocking Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille, which I’ve recommended for years—dried fruit into rugged tobacco, then a darker, yummy vanilla drydown. The Griffin twins show a super wearable lineup: Dior Homme 2020 as a modern, velvety daytime signature, and Bleu de Chanel Parfum as that rich “shower gel done to the highest degree” bedtime flex (plus a quick detour into YSL L’Homme L’Intense, which I find interesting but not my favorite). Justin Jefferson goes full baller with Bond No. 9 Dubai Black Sapphire—nuclear, dirty, and honestly tough for me to wear. Then Calvin Johnson closes it out with Clive Christian No. 1: spicy-fresh to powdery-posh, and yes, absurdly expensive—but undeniably classy.
