In this video I’m doing a straight unboxing of the Wendougee Ares 90B grinder that I’m planning to pair with my Wendougee single group machine with Link capability. This is a GBW (grind-by-weight) commercial-style grinder, and I’m especially curious to see if it can handle auto calibration properly once I start running it. I also talk through the key features I’m looking at right away—RPM adjustment, and the option to grind by time if you prefer that workflow. As usual with Wendougee, the packaging is seriously tough and well protected, so it takes a bit of effort to get everything out safely. The grinder itself is very heavy, the hopper is huge (and metal), and the chute design reminds me of the RK1 style—there’s a softer deflector piece meant to guide grounds back into the portafilter. I also point out practical details like the UK plug requested for Singapore, the power switch location, and cable routing so you don’t pinch the wire under the body. This video is purely the unbox and first look—next video I’ll test grind quality and see how it actually performs in real use.
