I’m back with a cozy remote work vlog from Portugal (and yes, I’m Portuguese). This is my first day back after the holidays, so I start with a morning walk with Kimba, then I do a proper catch-up on why I disappeared from YouTube for 6–7 weeks: Q4 got insanely busy, a spontaneous project popped up, and honestly I started overthinking my content. I get imposter syndrome, compare my vlogs to other creators, and it can make filming feel heavier than it should—so this video is me resetting and getting back into a healthier rhythm. After that, I share two big life threads: surfing and reflection. I started surfing this year and I’m genuinely obsessed—catching my first wave on my own felt so liberating and empowering. On the work side, I’m dealing with the classic “it passes locally but fails in the pipeline” situation, plus integration tests failing because my change affects more than I expected. I also walk through my year-end reflection questions, then set 2024 goals across work, self, and relationships. For 2024, I want to dive deeper into machine learning/deep learning, create more technical content inside my vlogs (possibly via an indie project series), and finally read The Lord of the Rings. I also talk candidly about the January layoff announcements and how uncertain it can feel.
