I took these anamorphic lenses out of the studio… and onto a real film set. In this video, I wanted to go beyond the usual tests and actually see how these lenses perform in a real production environment. Not just charts, not just B-roll — but a full scene with actors, lighting, and a crew. I DP’d, lit, and shaped the entire scene myself, working in a confined space while controlling light with negative fill, practical setups, and a small team supporting the production. We used the Sirui Astra 1.33x anamorphic lenses across three focal lengths — 50mm, 75mm, and 100mm — all shot at T1.8 on the Sony FX3. This isn’t a full technical review. This is a real-world look at how these lenses actually perform when it matters. ⸻ 🎵 MUSIC & SOUND EFFECTS Every story or episode needs the right music.
