I’ve been editing the same way for years… timeline, cutting clips, zooming in, moving things frame by frame. (LINK FOR DESCRIPT: https://get.descript.com/rh9wgg4lx9i0 ) For this video, I decided to try something different. Instead of using a traditional timeline, I edited this entire video using Descript — where you can literally edit your footage by editing text. Delete a word, and the video cuts with it. At first, I wasn’t fully convinced. As a filmmaker, I like having control over every frame. But after actually using it on a full video, I started to understand where this workflow makes sense… especially for talking-head content and faster edits. This isn’t a full breakdown or tutorial. There’s already a ton of that out there. This is just my experience using it in a real project — seeing if it actually holds up in a real creator workflow. Some parts surprised me. Some parts didn’t. But it definitely made me rethink how editing can be approached. ⸻ 🎵 MUSIC & SOUND EFFECTS Every story or episode needs the right music.
