In this video I’m connecting the dots between stress, sleep, and how fast your skin (and your body) can appear to age. We’ve talked before about making your bedroom more sleep-friendly—things like adding a humidifier so your skin doesn’t dry out, and using a sleep pillow to keep your head and neck positioned so you’re not scrunching your face into lines all night. And of course, I go back to that overnight repair cycle where your skin and your whole body do their deepest healing—because less inflammation and lower cortisol is where slower aging really starts. Today I’m sharing something I haven’t covered on the channel before: a weighted blanket. I explain the science of deep pressure stimulation—think “being hugged”—and how it can help lower cortisol (which can contribute to collagen breakdown), improve sleep quality by supporting serotonin and melatonin, and shift your body out of fight-or-flight and into rest-and-digest. That matters because chronic stress and inflammation accelerate aging you can see and aging you can’t. I also share my personal experience using a newer, heavier, cooling weighted blanket from Sleep & Glow—especially helpful when I was just getting over a nasty sinus infection and couldn’t sleep well.
