I tested a ton of cleansing waters this year, and these are my top five micellar waters of 2025—ranked by how well they remove makeup, how gentle they feel, and whether they’re acne-prone (and fungal acne) friendly. If you’re a minimalist, Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water is my #5 because it’s super straightforward: only seven ingredients, fungal acne safe, affordable, and easy to find. It’s just not packed with “skin-beneficial” extras—think simple makeup removal, no fluff. For dry skin, my surprise new favorite is #4: Then I Met You Living Sea Cleaning Tonic. It’s the most hydrating formula on this list with 85% deep sea water plus licorice, papaya, and hyaluronic acids. #3 is Round Lab 1025 Dokdo Cleansing Water—gentle, refreshing, moisturizing with hyaluronic acid and ceramides, but the cleansing power is a bit weaker (the tradeoff is barrier-friendliness). #2 is the classic Bioderma: it’s one of my all-time favorites, insanely gentle on the eyes, hydrating, and fungal acne safe. And my #1 is the ma:nyo Cleansing Water because it genuinely cleans the best—less cotton pads, still gentle, and it’s the only one here with exfoliants like PHA/BHA, which is a big win if you’re acne-prone.
