In this video I’m getting ready with you and showing exactly how I cover acne scarring in a way that still looks like skin—aka natural Korean male makeup, but acne-prone friendly. I start right after the shower because timing matters: while my skin is still moist, I go in heavy with moisturizer (more than I’d use on a normal day) so the base doesn’t catch on texture or go crusty around the nose, edges of the face, and neck. Then I use primer strategically—mostly on my cheeks where makeup can look cakey—because I get super oily in the center of my face. After that, I do my oily-skin trick: powder before liquid foundation (shoutout Wayne Goss). For under-eyes, I keep it minimal with NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer—no triangle—so it doesn’t shrink the eye or scream “I’m wearing makeup.” My base is a two-foundation approach: Armani Neo Nude for a sheer, acne-safe ingredient profile (but yes, it can be tricky/cakey), then CLIO Kill Cover Cushion only in the center of the face so it doesn’t look too makeupy. I finish by spot concealing scars with two brushes for precision and blending—basically Photoshop for the face.
