Hey guys! Today i wanted to take you through my top 5 tips for doing a down perm at home. I’ll be using my favourite asian/korean style down perm product to help deal with stubborn asian side hair from home! The "Downperm" 다운펌 tehnique comes from Korea but i'm using a canadian made brand called DPERM. A down perm is a great alternative to trimming the sides of your hair & I will take you through a tutorial on how to do this from the comfort of your own home . About This Video

In this video, I’m walking you through my top tips for doing a Korean-style down perm at home—specifically for that stubborn side hair that likes to puff out when it grows. If you wear a two-block cut like me, you already know the struggle: the top looks great, but the sides start sticking out and your whole silhouette gets wide. When I’ve got a big night out or event and I don’t want to run to the salon (or trim the sides again), a down perm is my go-to to keep everything clean and neat. I use DPERM (it’s a Canadian brand), and I like it because it’s formulated for all hair types, it’s gentler than other down perms I’ve tried, and it smells less chemically. I show you how I do one side at a time, why you need to use more product than you think (saturation matters), and how I protect my sensitive skin with aloe gel or moisturizer around the hairline, ears, and neck. I also cover the pressure step—paper strips plus the newer hair band option (or Saran Wrap if you don’t have one)—and timing (25 minutes). Finally, I explain how to make it last longer: don’t shampoo for at least 12 hours, and expect results for about three weeks.
