LinkedIn has changed how skills work in the About section, and I discovered in a client coaching call that you can no longer add a brand-new skill directly into About. The skill now must already exist in your Skills section at the bottom of your profile. In this walkthrough, I show how to remove a skill from the top five in About, then scroll down to Skills to add a new one using the plus sign and the dropdown list (for example, adding “event management”), save it, and then return to About to select it as one of your top five skills. LinkedIn didn’t announce this change, so this video demonstrates the updated steps.
