Wondering How to Show Events as BUSY Instead of FREE -- Using AddEvent? Perhaps like me, you are using AddEvent as a tool to give your clients and members the opportunity to add an event to their calendar. But then you discover the events are showing as FREE on their calendar, thereby resulting in events being booked ON TOP OF your event, and therefore resulting in lower attendance. (sigh) I did a bit of digging on AddEvent today, and discovered there IS a way to set this at the event level, but I can't find a way to do this as a series level (for multiple events in a program series, for example). Here are the steps. 1. Go to your AddEvent account 2. Click on a specific event, then click on the pencil icon to EDIT the event. 3. In the upper-right corner, click on "Additional fields" 4. In the dropdown, the field "Free/Busy" won't be shaded. Click to activate it. 5. Scroll down as "Mark event as" and instead of "Use default" change it to "BUSY" 6. Click SAVE Moving forward, people who add this to their calendar should see that the event is marked as BUSY on their calendar. I don't know yet if this pushes out a notification to people who have previously RSVP'd for the event. If I can confirm this, I'll update this video AddEvent allows you to create an "Add to Calendar" tool for any event. Want to sign up?
