In Vlogmas Day 18, I’m giving y’all real grown-woman conversation—parenting adult children, learning when to step back, and how boundaries keep relationships healthy. I share how I’m intentionally working on not being controlling and letting my daughter walk in her adulthood, even when every instinct in me wants to jump in and “fix” things. For me, it’s about respecting her space, not taking over her home, and keeping communication so open that snooping doesn’t even have to be a thing. I also take y’all with me for brunch with my daughter at a breakfast spot (M I A M / “Mam”—child, I should’ve asked how to say it). When I tell you we ordered like true content creators—five dishes and everything was top tier. The shrimp and grits had me acting brand new, the chicken and waffles were insane, and even the cappuccino was clutch. Then we get into puppy life—my heart was in a million pieces leaving my baby boy crying, but I’m also learning to follow peace (and the Spirit) and let him stay a little longer so he can adjust and be trained consistently. To wrap it up, I share what I’m doing for weight loss while still living life: simple meal prep (chicken thighs and broccoli, plus beef tips with brown rice and string beans), getting back to running with couch to 5K, and planning a self-care week with appointments and a little beach reset.
