In this video I’m showing y’all how to sample directly from your smartphone into the MPC Sample—same vibe as the MPC Live 3 and MPC X/XL. If you’ve been trying to grab audio off your phone (Splice, YouTube, Spotify, whatever) and get it straight into your dawless workflow, this is the easiest way. All you need is a USB‑C cable from the phone into the MPC Sample, then you set your input to USB and you’re ready to record. I walk through the exact input configuration: Shift + Input Config, switch the source to USB (or USB L/R if you wanna get specific), set monitoring how you like, and choose record length (Free or tied to your sequence). After that I record a Splice sample, set the tempo (I kept it simple and went 140), then I do what I always do—lazy chops. On the MPC Sample it’s “manual chop,” and I show you how to tighten the start points with zoom and the big knob so the chops aren’t all over the place. Then I build a quick beat: hats with note repeat, snare, 808 with 16 Levels, and I add a kick for more punch. Main takeaway: update your unit first, and once you’re updated, sampling from your phone (or even your computer) is crazy simple.
