For all my MPC Sample users, Akai dropped the 1.3.0 update and this one is straight to the point. I’m not doing a long tutorial or making a beat today—I just wanted to show y’all the main fixes they did under the hood, especially the stuff a lot of you have been asking for. I pulled up MPC Sample with a quick sample loaded, and we get right into what actually changed. The biggest requested feature is finally here: sample normalization inside MPC Sample. Now you can boost and level your sample without leaving the app. All you do is go to Sample Mode, make sure you’re on Trim, hit Shift, and you’ll see Normalize—tap it and you’re done. Super easy. The other big fix is knob behavior. A lot of y’all weren’t feeling having to “catch” the value by turning the knob all the way one direction before it responds. In 1.3.0, you can change Parameter Takeover, Knob Effects Takeover, and Fader Takeover in MIDI Config (Shift + Pad 8). You get Pickup, Scaled, and Instant—me personally, I like Instant because it just moves immediately and stays out the way.
