In this live stream I’m back on the MPC Sample doing what I do—dawless beat production, straight on the pads. I build a quick beat using one-shot samples (not loops) plus my Bolo 2025 Drum Kit, and I walk you through the actual button-by-button workflow: starting a new project, setting tempo (I go up to around 135 BPM), changing bar length, setting quantize, and using count-in so you can record clean. Then I start loading one-shots from my external drive, throwing them into 16 Levels (tune), and building a melody the old-school MPC way—knowing where middle C sits on the pads and playing from there. I also talk real about the MPC Sample itself: it’s basically a mini MPC with that classic feel like the 1000/2000XL era, and it’s super dope for what it is. But I keep it honest—right now I don’t like that you can’t just plug in a USB MIDI controller, and I really wish they had a scale mode for 808s and melodic parts. I show the update process too (including the little “error” people see), plus quick tips like Shift+Undo when you mess up, and why I’m not mad if somebody calls it a “toy”—because it’s not what you use, it’s how you use it.
