Day 3 of my “Beating Fallout 4 the Nintendo Way” Switch 2 challenge run is equal parts Fallout chaos and me wrestling my streaming setup into submission. I finally got combined chat working (after hours of wanting to carve my own eyeballs out), spotted a couple more layout issues to fix later, and then Twitch decided to have a little tantrum mid-stream anyway. Fun. On the upside, the new rig is an absolute weapon: zero dropped frames, way faster render time, and it’s got me thinking about pushing higher bitrate and even 1440p/4K on YouTube just to see what happens. In-game, the run rules are still battery-powered-only vibes, energy weapons only, and “Nintendo-ish” decisions whenever possible. The main mission for the session was finally tracking down a bowler hat for Codsworth (because obviously), which meant heading into Monsignor Plaza, disarming a bunch of mines, and dealing with the usual Creation Engine nonsense. I did find the hat… and then discovered the dumbest catch: if you’ve modified Codsworth in the Automatron workbench, he can’t wear it anymore. Absolute bollocks, Bethesda. I also confirmed the ammo workbench won’t craft energy ammo at all, so my fusion cell economy is still the classic Fallout 4 loop: purified water runs, vendor circuits, and buying cells the hard way.
