About This Video

Hello friends, this is Day 2 of my Palo Alto on Azure series. Before we deploy Palo Alto Firewall in Azure cloud, I want you to be very clear on the basic terminology and the hierarchy—because if you don’t understand this part, you will not be able to deploy the firewall in the correct environment. In this video I explain, in a simple way, what is Tenant, what is Subscription, what is Resource Group, and what is VNET, and how they all connect with each other. I start with Tenant, which is the first level of hierarchy—think of it like an organization container (like your ABC company) where you get a tenant ID. After that comes Subscription, which I explain as the environment level—like prod, dev, test—so you can manage separate setups properly. Then I go to Resource Group, which is where your actual resources live: servers, storage, NIC cards, firewalls, and anything else you deploy. Finally, I explain VNET from a network/security point of view—how your resources communicate, how traffic flows from internet to inside network and back, and how you define connectivity in Azure. This video is the foundation for the upcoming deployment videos where we’ll talk about marketplace and how to deploy Palo Alto Firewall correctly in Azure.
