Is Marco's carbonara recipe good?

In 2011 chef Marco Pierre White took on a sponsorship with Knorr, promoting their various ranges of stocks and condiments. Along with that he produced a number of video recipes of varying quality! The move attracted some negative reaction and consternation among the press, unable to believe a chef of such high renown was working for such a brand. I've taken a look at some of these recipes to see whether they are worth making - including his wishy washy spaghetti carbonara, and his controversial "Jamaican" rice and peas...
