In this video I talk about what we can do to Legalize Hobby Distilling for personal consumption, just like home brewing and home wine making. UPDATE: The Hobby Distillers Association is shut down due to lack of funding. As a home brewer who loves to experiment and tinker, I naturally thought, "It would be cool if I could make my own whiskey, too. I already know how to brew beer, so I'm halfway there." I got excited about a potential new hobby and I started doing some research, only to find out that even though Home Brewing is legal, Home Distilling is NOT! It's long past time for Hobby Distilling to have the same legal status as home brewing. I'm not talking about being a moonshiner for illegal untaxed cash. I'm talking about making finely crafted bourbon, rum, and vodka at home for your own use. There is a big community of hobby distillers out there hiding in the shadows, quietly perfecting their craft in secret. These are people who love distilling because it's a subtle, detail oriented craft. People who, like many home brewers, push themselves to constantly improve and tweak their recipes and learn new techniques because experimenting and creating is fascinating and rewarding. Let's get rid of this outdated law from the Prohibition Era. Check out the links below to find out more about the legalization effort currently underway. #LegalizeHobbyDistilling Find Contact Info for Your Elected Officials - https://www.usa.gov/elected-officials If you're interested in distilling check out my buddy Jesse's channel.
