Strain the moonshine off the apples and save the moonshine for later. If you didnât have enough macerated apples for the recipe and are using some fresh apples, peel and chop them, then sautĂ© them in a little butter until slightly browned and slightly tender. 2. Toss apples in 1 Tbsp flour, œ cup white sugar, 2 Tbsp lemon juice and œ tsp cinnamon, then pour into an 8âx8â casserole dish. 3. Mix topping ingredients and sprinkle over apples, then bake @ 350F or 180C for 30-45 minutes until evenly golden brown, then let it cool for 10-15 minutes to firm up. Serve with Ice cream and top with sauce. Flaming Apple Pie Moonshine Sauce: 1 cup of Apple Pie Moonshine strained from the apples-save 4 tablespoons! 1/2 cup brown sugar 2oz butter œ cup heavy cream Black pepper â just a pinch 1. DO NOT TURN ON HEAT! Pour all but 4 TBSP of the apple pie moonshine into a sautĂ© pan, then turn on the heat and bring to a simmer. *WARNING!* This is extremely flammable and *WILL CATCH ON FIRE*. Have a fire extinguisher nearby and a tight-fitting lid for the sautĂ© pan. 2. Stir the sugar, butter and alcohol together to dissolve. As the moonshine comes up to a simmer, turn down the heat to medium low. It may catch on fire spontaneously if youâre using a gas stove. If not, use a long handled lighter to ignite the vapors. 3. Allow the alcohol to burn off until the flames go out on their own. You can place a lid covering half the pan to reduce the flames. If the flames are too high or get out of control, do not hesitate to cover the pan completely with a lid to extinguish them. 4. Once the alcohol has burned off and the flames are out, simmer the liquid until it thickens and reduces in volume by at least half. 5. Once the sauce is thick enough to coat the back of a metal spoon, add the cream and simmer on low until thickened. 6. Turn off the heat, add a pinch of black pepper and 2TBSP of the reserved apple pie moonshine and stir to incorporate. Taste the sauce to determine if you need to add more alcohol to your taste. 7. Serve over warm cobbler and cold vanilla ice cream. Disclaimer: This recipe is provided for entertainment purposes. If you make this flambe sauce, you assume all risk associated with the process.
