I'm brewing up a #CreamAle with some of the #MaltedCorn I made in a previous video. Had a bit of a surprise downpour try to soak my brew kettle, but everything turned out ok. I'm trying out the no-chill cooling method again, as well as some Irish Moss to see if it helps clear the beer. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. B.I.A.B. NO CHILL METHOD 1. Bring 7.5 gallons of water to 155F strike temp. Stir in grains and mash at 148F to 150F for 75 minutes. Adjust temp as needed to maintain consistent temp. 2. Mash out at 168F for 10 minutes. 3. Drain grains, then boil wort for 90 minutes. Add hops @ last 15 minutes of boil, then add Irish Moss @ last 10 minutes of boil. Flame out: NO-CHILL-Check wort volume. Add water if needed to top up to 5.5 gallons. Stir briskly to create a whirlpool to pile sediment in the center of the kettle. Cover kettle with sanitized lid, and leave it to cool overnight. Rack into sanitized fermenter, aerate the wort and pitch yeast. Ferment for 2 weeks and check gravity to ensure fermentation is complete. Bottle and condition for 2-4 weeks.
