About This Video

All right, so in this video I’m fixing one of the most annoying PC problems—Instagram Reels being way too loud on desktop. You know that moment when you’re watching Reels on your computer and the music just blasts out of nowhere? The problem is Instagram basically gives you only two options: mute the video or lower your entire system volume. And yeah, you can go into sound settings and turn it down, but then everything on your PC gets quieter, including YouTube, Spotify, or whatever else you’re doing. So I show you the quick trick I use: Windows Volume Mixer. I right click the speaker icon on the taskbar, open Volume Mixer, and then lower only the browser volume that’s playing Instagram. One important thing I mention—if Instagram and YouTube are open in the same browser, they’ll show up as one single volume slider, so lowering it will lower both. The fix is simple: keep Instagram in a different browser (like Edge) and YouTube in Chrome, and then you can control each one separately. Quick and easy, and it works.
