Have you ever deleted a file, folder, or photo by accident? If you’ve ever lost files that actually mattered, you know how bad that feels. In this video, I show you a real-world, step-by-step test on Windows 11 where I format a USB drive on purpose (the exact mistake a lot of people make), then try to recover the data using Stellar Data Recovery. The USB had a proper mix—photos, HEIC images from an iPhone (those can be tricky sometimes), MP4 and MOV videos, plus some random documents—so it’s a solid recovery test, not just a “happy path” demo. I walk you through download and installation, what to select in the dashboard (photos/videos/documents vs selecting everything), and how the scan works in phases to dig deeper. After the scan, I got 105 files and around 6GB of recoverable data, and what’s crazy is it didn’t only find the stuff I just deleted—it also detected older files from previous formats. I also show my favorite part: previewing files before recovery so you’re not blindly restoring everything. Finally, I cover the important rule—don’t save recovered files back to the same drive—and I talk about features like resume scan, recovery from a disk image, and even non-booting PC recovery for logical issues like formatting, deletion, corruption, or crashes.
