In this video I walk you through threading the Landis 16 from start to finish, starting right at the cone holder. I show you the basic path up through the metal bracket, and I also point out an optional wrap over the bar if you’re running linen or you just need a little more tension. That part isn’t totally critical, but it can help you fine-tune how the thread feeds depending on what you’re sewing. What is critical is the tension disc setup. I explain how to back the pressure off and open the discs so you can see the hole that runs through the rod—because this machine will not sew unless the thread goes through that hole between the tension discs before it heads to the wax pot (or straight down into the machine if you’re not waxing). From there I trace the exact route: through the stripper, above the finger, across the eyelet, over the thread brake, through the steel loop, through the casting, up through the spring tension arm, over the roller, and down through the final eye. Follow that sequence and you’ll know your Landis 16 is threaded correctly and ready to stitch.
