In this video, I show you how to build financial models in minutes using ChatGPT 5 and Excel. Chat GBT Prompt: Act as a Chief Financial Officer and Excel modeler. Create and return a downloadable Excel file named "Financial_Model_Scenarios.xlsx". Goal: Build a simple, formula-driven 5-year financial model (2025–2029) for a small manufacturing company with three scenarios: • Base Case – sales grow 3% per year, margin stays constant, costs rise 2%. • US Expansion – sales grow 8% per year, margin improves by 1 point per year, costs rise 3%. • Pessimistic – sales fall 2% per year, margin drops 1 point per year, costs fall 1%. Include the following sheets: 1️⃣ **README** - Short bullet points explaining what each sheet does. - Mention that all calculations are linked and driven by formulas. - Tell users to edit numbers only in the Assumptions sheet. 2️⃣ **P&L_2025** - Base year starting point with the following data: • Revenue = £10,000,000 • COGS = £6,000,000 • Operating Expenses = £2,500,000 - Add formulas: • Gross Profit = Revenue – COGS • EBITDA = Gross Profit – Operating Expenses - Format currency with commas. 3️⃣ **Assumptions** - Columns: Assumption | Base Case | US Expansion | Pessimistic - Include: • Annual Sales Growth % • Gross Margin change (pp/year) • OpEx Growth % - Base Case: 3%, 0.0, 2% - US Expansion: 8%, +1.0, 3% - Pessimistic: –2%, –1.0, –1% 4️⃣ **Scenario Sheets** - Create one sheet per scenario named exactly: “Base Case”, “US Expansion”, “Pessimistic”. - Columns: Metric | 2025 | 2026 | 2027 | 2028 | 2029 - Metrics (rows): Revenue COGS Gross Profit Gross Margin % Operating Expenses EBITDA - The 2025 column must link to ‘P&L_2025’ cells using proper Excel syntax with single quotes, for example: ='P&L_2025'!B2 - Forward-year formulas (for 2026–2029): Revenue_t = previous year × (1 + Sales Growth) GM%_t = GM%_(t-1) + GM change COGS_t = Revenue_t × (1 – GM%) Gross Profit_t = Revenue_t – COGS_t OpEx_t = previous year × (1 + OpEx Growth) EBITDA_t = Gross Profit_t – OpEx_t - Use explicit cell references back to the Assumptions sheet (no named ranges). - When referencing another sheet, **always use Excel syntax with single quotes around the sheet name** (for example: ='Assumptions'!B2). **Do not include @ symbols or structured references.** Formatting & Rules: - Grey header fill. - Currency numbers with thousand separators. - Percentages with one decimal place. - Workbook calculation = Automatic. - No hard-coded values in calculation cells — everything must use formulas. Return the finished Excel file when done. #ExcelTutorial #ChatGPTinExcel #FinancialModeling #AIPoweredExcel #LearnExcel #ExcelBeginners #ExcelFinance #AIforBusiness #ExcelModel #VexTutorials 👉🏻 CHECK OUT MY OTHER TUTORIALS: ✅ Power BI & SQL Integration: https://youtu.be/RsyzaUvRI1g?si=cdKK10s3g5kvFsnr ✅ Power BI | Beginner to Pro - Part 2: • Power BI Tutorial - Beginner to Pro |... ✅ Excel Interactive Finance Dashboard - • How to build Dynamic & Interactive Fi... ✅ Boost Excel Skills with Chat GBT - • Boost your Excel Skills with ChatGBT ✅ Excel Shortcuts - • Excel Shortcuts - Made Easy! 🎥 My Filming Gear 🎥 For those interested in the technical side of our tutorials, or if you're looking to create your own content, here are the tools I use to make these videos possible.
