It’s been a minute since I’ve talked about my 1999 C5 Corvette convertible that I bought sight unseen at auction for $10,000, and honestly it was a total crapshoot. It was listed as a red light, so anything could’ve been wrong with it, but it ended up being an excellent running and driving car. In this video I’m doing the final walkaround and my last drive because this is the current giveaway car, and the entry window is coming to a close (April 13th). I go over the stuff people always ask about—six-speed manual, LS1, ice-cold A/C, no warning lights, cats still on it so it’ll pass emissions, and that Corsa exhaust that just sounds ridiculously good. I also cover a real C5 issue I dealt with: the steering wheel lock problem. I fixed it with an LMC5 bypass kit (about $60) and I’m including the original parts and instructions in the trunk if the winner ever wants to go back to stock (I wouldn’t).
