Finallyyy got a new phone with enough storage to edit this almost one-year-old travel vlog from my two weeks in California visiting my family. This video is really just me trying to bottle up all those little moments—especially with my nephew because he was so teeny tiny (and now he’s walking?!). We ate our way through parts of the trip too: a breakfast sandwich that was very so-so, a peach smoothie that was actually delicious, and Japan Town was a full highlight because I’m still thinking about the creme brulee and those cheese tarts. We road-tripped about five hours to Redwood National Forest and basically did “stop wherever looks cool on the map” as long as the baby allowed it. Eureka, California ended up being such a vibe—creative, artsy, and I found these curly celestial paintings that spoke to me (I wanted one so bad). We hit spots like Wedding Rock (mystical, enchanted, I could’ve stayed all day), did overlooks and trails with unreal views, and I survived a tree walk even though I’m terrified of heights (I think I cried, it was rough). I wrapped the trip with a peaceful windy solo beach walk, ramen in Japan Town that was so good, and of course the San Francisco sea lions. Next visit: I need a second stomach for Biscoff because last time I was way too full.
