In this video I show you how to add custom offline dictionaries to your Kindle in the simplest way possible—on both Windows and Mac. The whole idea is: you download a .MOBI dictionary file (I linked a free open-source Wiktionary option and another download site), then you drop it into the right folder on your Kindle. No complicated tools, no weird conversions—just a quick file transfer. On Windows, it’s literally drag and drop. You plug your Kindle in via USB, open File Explorer, click “Kindle”, then go to Documents → dictionaries, and drop your .MOBI file in there. On Mac, the steps are basically the same, but you’ll use Amazon’s official “Send to Kindle” app to access the USB File Manager, then go to Documents → dictionaries and drop the file. Unplug your Kindle and you’re done—sometimes a restart is needed for the new dictionary to show up, but usually it’s not.
