Failing an assignment | Questioning my passion and abilities I was inspired to make this video by Lydia Martin who went through a similar thing and I commend her transparency. Last year I failed an assignment, it sucked and I instantly started to beat myself up about it. I wasn't sure how my family would take it. They reminded that this is my first time doing a masters and i should not be so hard on myself. I was so gutted to fail in one of the modules which I enjoyed so much, I doubted my passion for the module. Speaking to my tutor reminded me that on this degree passing the masters is important yes but it only a small component of the bigger picture. She reminded me that it would be more concerning if i were to fail a placement for not having the personality/nature to make a healthcare professional because those are things which can not be taught. As I have shared before in one of my many reels, Grades are important but they are not everything. I did not share this with you at the time because I wanted to focus on my resit and not have any more pressure to add onto what I was already placing onto myself. Sometimes, I feel pressured to continuously push myself and do it all. End of the day we are all human and what we see on the surface may not always reflect what someone is dealing with. Great news is that I passed my resit and am still on track to make a great physiotherapist.
