BTEC DEGREES | Is there still a stigma? Last month I was asked to speak to some of the children at my sixth-form about my journey from GCSE to MSC. During my talk, I was asked questions about BTECs which made it clear to me that a stigma is still present around the qualification. I have come so far because of the doors that BTEC opened for me. At the time I did not think it was the path that I would take to get to where I am today. I did two level two BTECs during my secondary school years and a level three course at sixth-form. When I began applying for university I noticed that BTECs were not accepted everywhere and or were looked down upon. Unfortunetly, due to the stigma, it is believed that doing a BTEC is not the best path to take in comparison to A-levels. In this video, i want to address a few things and hopefully make you realise that the qualification deserves some respect.
