In this video I’m covering a pretty wild (but totally possible) breeding moment with my Chinese water dragons—two clutches laid in the exact same nest box for Group C. When you’re running groups, you’ve got to stay on top of nest box checks, because sometimes the females will choose the same spot and stack you with eggs faster than you expect. The big takeaway is that “same nest box” doesn’t automatically mean something went wrong—it just means you need a solid system for identifying, pulling, and managing eggs so nothing gets damaged or mixed up. I also talk through the practical side of what I do next when this happens: keep calm, handle eggs carefully, and make sure you’re documenting what you’re seeing so you can track each clutch properly.
