In this Minnesota Herpetological Society Zoom talk (recorded July 11th, 2025), I walk through the history, care, and captive propagation of the Asian water dragon. This one is set up like a proper lecture—less “day in the reptile room” and more me laying out what I’ve learned keeping and breeding these animals, plus what I think actually matters if you want long-term success. I also took a moment to thank everyone who attended and supported the channel. On the care side, I focus on practical husbandry: what these lizards need from you in terms of setup, routine, and consistency so they can thrive in captivity. Then I shift into captive propagation—how I approach breeding-minded care, why seasonality and stability matter, and what you should be thinking about if your goal is healthy adults and viable offspring. I also point viewers toward USARK membership, because keeping and breeding reptiles responsibly goes hand-in-hand with protecting the hobby and the future of captive-bred animals.
