I had some interest in wanting updates regarding the pair of Sulawesi black sailfin dragons (Hydrosaurus celebensis). While the female has acclimated and now hates me! The male is starting to come into his own and is surprisingly starting to calm down. He's finally getting the beautiful golden dorsum this species is known for. I hope that in the next few years he'll be a stunning contrasted adult! JOIN USARK! BECOME A MEMBER!: https://usark.org/memberships/ Have any questions? About This Video

In this update, I’m checking in on my pair of Sulawesi black sailfin dragons (Hydrosaurus celebensis) because a lot of you asked how they’re settling in. The big change on the female side is that she’s fully acclimated now—and yeah, she pretty much hates me. That’s honestly not unusual once a sailfin decides it’s comfortable and confident in its space, and it’s a good reminder that “taming down” isn’t always the end goal with these animals. The male, on the other hand, is starting to come into his own in a really cool way. He’s been surprisingly calming down compared to where he started, and I’m finally seeing that beautiful golden dorsum this species is known for. That color coming in is one of those milestones that tells me he’s settling, maturing, and heading in the right direction. My hope is that over the next few years he turns into a seriously contrasted adult, and I’ll keep sharing updates as he develops. Also, if you care about keeping and breeding reptiles long-term, I always encourage people to support USARK—because the future of the hobby depends on it.
