Sherwood Forest Faire: The Hawk Walk Experience

We headed back to Sherwood Forest Faire for a medieval weekend focused on camping with our friend group and experiencing the incredible Birds of Prey exhibit. Getting up close with falcons, owls, and a kookaburra during the Hawk Walk was an unforgettable way to start the morning before hitting the festival grounds. The day began at the campgrounds with a quick breakfast at the Blackbird Grill to fuel up for the faire. From there, we went straight to the Falconry Exhibit for the Hawk Walk. Having the opportunity to hold these magnificent birds of prey and watch them take flight right in front of us is easily one of the best experiences the faire has to offer. After the falconry demonstration, we spent the afternoon exploring the rest of the medieval village. We watched the intense Trial by Combat sword fights, checked out the massive sand sculptures, and caught several entertaining stage acts and musical performances scattered throughout the forest. We also made sure to stop by the Silk Road for another round of their famous Viking fries. To wrap up the medieval festival experience, we headed back out to the Sherwood Forest Faire campground. Hanging out at the campsite and relaxing with the crew was the perfect way to bring a busy day of faire adventures to a close.
