Renogy just dropped their new ShadowFlux 200W fixed solar panel, and in this video I put it through some real-world testing—because on-paper specs don’t mean much if a panel falls apart the second you get partial shade. I go over the dimensions (49 3/4" x 30" x 1 1/4", just under 24 lbs), then start testing on the ground first with my Allpowers R1500 to get a baseline on a truly horrific, hazy overcast day. Even with bad conditions, I show how angle matters (using the bottle-shadow trick), and then I do the fun part: I block about a third of the panel with my body to see what the output does. The big takeaway is the anti-shade tech actually works. Instead of the panel basically tanking to nothing when part of it is shaded, it still kept producing power, and it recovered almost instantly when I moved out of the way. After that, I mount it to my iKamper Skycamp (on my “Super Ute”) using my preferred low-profile method with steel T-nuts and 1/4-20 bolts into the Cabari XL extrusion. Finally, I tie it into my Renogy house battery system with the Rover MPPT and do the volts x amps math—29.0V x 6.99A—showing about 202W out of a 200W panel. Lighter, more efficient, and better in shade makes this one a no-brainer if you’re shopping for a fixed panel.
