In this update, I walk through the Michigan Conference letter dated March 16, 2026 about Dr. Conrad Vine and his participation in the Village Seventh-day Adventist Church pulpit. We put the document on screen, read it line by line, and then I come back to reexamine what’s being claimed—especially the appeal to “representative governance,” the Lake Union’s involvement, and the conclusion that Dr. Vine is still not permitted to preach in Michigan Conference pulpits while “concerns” remain “unresolved.” I also explain why I believe the process raises serious questions about due process and the voice of the local church membership. The Village church voted overwhelmingly to reinstate Dr. Vine as an elder, yet the conference moved the dispute upward and then used “conference guidelines” to override what the members decided. We also revisit the key “if/then” statement from Dr. Vine’s sermon—if the GC supports future mandates over conscience, then members may consider a parachurch structure and tithe allocation toward faithfulness to Scripture—and I ask why leadership reacts so strongly to a conditional warning unless they plan to violate conscience. Finally, I connect this to end-time realities: truth, liberty of conscience, and the precedent being set for pastors and elders. I also highlight the financial fallout Michigan Conference itself acknowledged, and I ask the simple question: count the cost—was this worth it?
