In this first message of my “Christ for the Crisis” series, I take you into Matthew 26 and the Garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus asked His disciples to “watch with me”—and they slept in the hour of crisis. I lay this study on the foundation of Desire of Ages (p. 83): if we spend a thoughtful hour each day contemplating the life of Christ—especially the closing scenes—revival will take place. I show how prophecy is not given to entertain us, but to strengthen our faith before the crisis comes, because we’re saved by grace through faith—and prophecy fortifies that faith. From Matthew 16, 17, 20, John 14, and John 16, I walk through the repeated warnings Jesus gave ahead of time, and I connect that to God’s pattern in Scripture: He sends messengers in mercy (2 Chronicles 36), and rejection of warning leads to judgment. Then I apply it to our world right now—wars, rumors of wars, black swan events, propaganda, and escalating global instability. My burden is simple: don’t let the noise of end-time events distract you from preparation. Satan delights in war because it diverts the mind from getting ready to stand in the day of God—so I’m calling you back to Jesus, back to watchfulness, and back to mission.
