In this video, I react to Paula White and the whole “seed sowing” style of fundraising that’s become normalized in many evangelical spaces. I play clips where she claims spiritual authority in a way that comes off arrogant—talking about declaring the White House “holy ground” because she’s standing there, and even implying that saying no to Trump is saying no to God. I also address how this kind of language feeds a political-religious mindset that takes things to extremes, and I briefly reference 1 Timothy 2:12 because the way she spoke sounded like a usurping, domineering spirit rather than the meekness of Christ. Then we get into the money appeal—pressuring people to give, holding prayer and ministry hostage, and guilt-tripping them with “kids will die without your obedience.” I call that prosperity-gospel manipulation, not the Spirit of God, because “where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” Biblically, the “seed” is the Word of God and the “ground” is the heart—this concept was flipped into a money scheme because people aren’t reading Scripture. I also connect this to Rome’s old playbook of withholding blessings to enrich itself, and I testify (with my fellow laborers) that God can sustain His work without coercion when we simply stay faithful and trust Him—putting the Lord first and letting Him take care of the rest.
